Il progetto REMEDIALIFE riguarda da molto vicino anche il tuo settore.

I am Adriana Giangrande, professor of Zoology at the University of Salento scientific manager and coordinator of the REMEDIALIFE project.

For over 20 years I have been dealing with invertebrate breeding in association with mariculture.

REMEDIALIFE is a great European project that involves the production of ornamental marine invertebrates (worms).

But why is this important?

Because from our investigations our worms used as bait are very appreciated by fish.

MANY ADVANTAGES

The possibility of using worms that are reared as live bait has a triple positive aspect: effectiveness (more fished) economic (lower production cost) and environmental (protection of Mediterranean species).

EFFECTIVENESS: worms are much appreciated by fish because they have a large muscular part and high mobility.

ECONOMY: they are worms obtained from plant breeding with a very competitive production price.

ENVIRONMENT: they are worms that, if used, avoid to import from organisms external to the Mediterranean organisms that if introduced into the environment could cause considerable damages.
